at Target Field and Treasure Island Summer Sundays

MINNEAPOLIS-ST. PAUL, MN – Elevating their partnership to new heights, the Minnesota Twins and Treasure Island Resort & Casino today announced new programs aimed at enhancing the Target Field fan experience and, most importantly, ensuring the next generation has the opportunity to play baseball and softball. Beginning with the Twins’ 2023 Home Opener this Thursday, April 6, Sections 229-234 and 329-334 at Target Field will be known as the Treasure Island Home Run Deck; for every Twins home run hit into that section throughout the season, Treasure Island Resort & Casino will donate $2,500 to the Minnesota Twins Community Fund as part of its “Destination Home Run” program. Additionally, thanks to the “Treasure Island Summer Sunday Giveaways,” all fans who sit in the Treasure Island Home Run Deck for Sunday games between June 4 and September 24 will receive a special, free promotional item.

Treasure Island Resort & Casino and the Prairie Island Indian Community have been longstanding cornerstone partners of the Twins Community Fund, donating over $1,000,000 since the inception of the partnership.

“We are grateful to Treasure Island Resort & Casino for supporting our commitment to make sure every kid in Twins Territory can play our wonderful games of baseball and softball,” said Kristin Rortvedt, the Twins’ senior director of community engagement and the executive director of the Twins Community Fund. “We can’t wait to see the Treasure Island Home Run Deck packed with our fans this season, and now the Destination Home Run program gives us even more reason to cheer for our Twins to hit one out!”

“We value our partnership with the Minnesota Twins,” said Tribal Council President Johnny Johnson. “Being able to share our story and interact with fans across Twins Territory is an incredible opportunity. We look forward to another great season and bringing a touch of The Island to Target Field.”

Treasure Island Home Run Deck and Destination Home Run Program

Along with naming rights for Sections 229-234 and 329-324 at Target Field – a 10-section, two-level swath that covers from the leftfield foul pole to the far end of the bullpens in deep left-center – Treasure Island Resort & Casino’s Destination Home Run program is helping ensure that every kid has access to the resources needed to play the games they love.

For every Twins home run hit into the Treasure Island Home Run Deck during the 2023 season, Treasure Island Resort & Casino will donate $2,500 to the Twins Community Fund. Last season, Twins batters launched 16 homers into those sections, which would have meant $40,000 to support the Fund’s various clinics, field and equipment grants, and programs.

Treasure Island Summer Sundays

Treasure Island Resort & Casino will join Twins fans in celebrating the return of summer this year with Treasure Island Summer Sundays program.
