Treasure Island Resort & Casino Breaks Ground on a New Addition

RED WING, Minn. (May 21, 2015) – Treasure Island Resort & Casino will break ground on a 19 million dollar project that is expected to be complete in early 2016.

The new development is approximately 40,000 square feet and includes a fitness center, an upscale spa and salon, a recreational swimming pool with a lazy river feature and two looping body slides with a height of 24 feet. There is a zero depth pool and splash area in the family pool area for younger children to safely play in and an activity area as part of that water element. There will also be a separate adult pool with a swim-up bar and an adult lounge area and hot tubs.

To enhance the pool addition experience, there are four separate outdoor patios that guests can enjoy the weather during the warmer months. The patios will be available for parties and private events as well.

Ron Johnson, President of the Prairie Island Indian Community Tribal Council, is excited about the economic impact this major addition will have on the region. “This project is the latest investment that we will make in the region and we continue to be a strong contributor to the local economy. Over 20 new jobs will be created for Goodhue County,”
