Treasure Island announces 2018 Summer Concert Series entertainment

Welch, Minn. (January 17, 2018) Treasure Island is excited to announce the first two shows of the “2018 Summer Concert Series” which will take place at the new outdoor Treasure Island Amphitheater.

“Martin & Martin,” otherwise known as Steve Martin & Martin Short, bring their comedic genius and enthusiasm to the Treasure Island Amphitheater on August 10.

Steve Martin is an actor, comedian, author, playwright, screenwriter, producer an accomplished musician and one of the most diversified performers and acclaimed artists of his generation. Martin has been successful as a writer of and performer in some of the most popular movies of recent file history – appearing in more than 50 films of the course of his career. With titles such as Planes, trains and Automobiles, Parenthood, Father of the Bride and Cheaper by the Dozen, Baby Mama and It’s Complicated, Martin’s films are the type that are viewed again and again. Martin wrote the screen plays for some of his most celebrated films including The Jerk, Roxanne, Bowfinger, L.A. Story and Shopgirl.

With his ever evolving body of work, Martin is also a Grammy Award winning musician who found his love for the banjo the age of 17 and won the International Bluegrass Music Association’s Entertainer of the Year Award in 2011.

Steve Martin is joined on stage by long-time friend and fellow comedian Martin Short. Short has won fans and accolades in television, film and theater since his breakout season on Saturday Night Live more than 30 years ago.

His popularity and exposure on SNL led Short to cross over quickly into feature films. Some of his films include, Pure Luck, Clifford, Innerspace, Three Fugitives and many more. Short starred with his friend Steven Martin in Three Amigos, Father of the Bride and Father of the Bride Part II to name a few. Short is a two-time primetime Emmy winner, a Tony winner and is the owner of numerous entertainment awards from Canada.

The second announced show of Treasure Island’s 2018 Summer Concert Series is Kid Rock who brings his “American Rock ‘N’ Roll Tour 2018” to The Island on August 11. Kid Rock burst onto the music scene in 1998 with his Devil Without a Cause album and hasn’t looked back. From his singles like “Bawitdaba,” “Cowboy” and “Picture” to “All Summer Long,” Kid Rock has blazed his own trail in the music world having sold more than 26 million albums to date and continuing to tour.

Kid Rock holds the Michigan record for most tickets sold with 150,000 for a run of ten consecutive sold-out shows and recently set the Little Caesars Arena attendance record in his hometown of Detroit with nearly 87,000 attendees in six sold-out shows! His current tour is in tandem with his new album Sweet Southern Sugar.

Tickets for both shows go on sale Saturday, January 20. The Martin & Martin show tickets go on sale at 10 a.m. with reserved seating prices starting at $55.
