Red Wing, MN (May 22, 2017) The American rock band The Wallflowers and alternative rock band Better Than Ezra will bring their music to Treasure Island Resort & Casino on Saturday, August 12, 2017.
California has been the starting point for many American bands and this is the case for The Wallflowers. Jakob Dylan, and Tobi Miller formed the band in 1989 and by 1992 they released their debut album.
However it was their 1996 album release that put the band on the charts with their highest-selling album, Bringing Down the Horse. The album also produced three top 10 hits; “6th Avenue Heartache,” “The Difference” and the #1 chart topper “One Headlight.” Their success continued with this album when in 1998 they won two Grammy Awards for Best Rock Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocal and Best Rock Song for “One Headlight.”
The Wallflowers have had other hits such as the lead track, “Heroes” from the movie Godzilla and the album (Breach), which is certified gold.
To date the band has released six studio albums including the 2012 release, Glad All Over. May 2016 was the 20th anniversary of the platinum certified album Bringing Down the Horse which The Wallflowers reissued on vinyl.
Better Than Ezra released the album Deluxe, on their own label in 1993 but it caught the attention of a major record label who signed the band and reissued the album along with the single, “Good.” The single was a hit and reached #1 on the Hot Modern Rock Tracks chart and propelled Deluxe to platinum.
The bands next album, Friction, Baby, produced two hits for The Wallflowers, “Desperately Wanting” and “King of New Orleans.” Overall the band has released eight studio albums with the most recent being the 2014 album, All Together Now.
