The Prairie Island Indian Community and the National Hockey League’s (NHL) Minnesota Wild have partnered during the 2012-2013 hockey season and youth hockey across the state came out the winner again. A check in the amount of $70,584 was presented by the Prairie Island Indian Community Tribal Council to Minnesota Hockey and the MSE Community Giving Fund.
The Prairie Island Indian Community pledged to match all dollars raised through the sales of Wild game programs during the season. The Minnesota Wild has been working with youth hockey game program sales since the club’s inception in 2000. All proceeds raised through the sale of game programs by youth hockey teams were donated to Minnesota Hockey and the MSE Community Giving Fund.
“When we approached the Minnesota Wild with an idea for a partnership, we couldn’t imagine the program would be so successful,”
