Prairie Island Hosts Youth Baseball Tournament

Red Wing, MN (June 22, 2015) The Prairie Island Indian Community and the Minnesota Twins partnered for the second year in a row to host the Red Wing Youth Baseball Tournament at the Prairie Island Sports Complex on June 20-21.

There were 10 teams participating in the 10AA Invitational at Prairie Island. After two days of play, the Edina Black took on the Woodbury Gladiators in the championship game Sunday afternoon. Edina defeated Woodbury for the title. Prior Lake defeated the Red Wing Winger Warriors for third place.

The teams also received Minnesota Twins items and tickets to an upcoming Minnesota Twins game.

In May, a free youth baseball clinic was hosted at the Prairie Island Sports Complex. It was free to boys and girls ages 6-12. Coaches from the Minnesota Twins worked with the youth on their skills. The clinic was presented by the Twins Community Fund and Red Wing Youth Baseball Association.
