Ozzy Osbourne and Zakk Wylde Reunite for a tour at The Island

Red Wing, MN (June 22, 2017) Rocker Ozzy Osbourne and his long time guitarist, Zakk Wylde will be touring together this summer and stopping at Treasure Island Resort & Casino for one incredible outdoor concert on Friday, August 11, 2017.

Ozzy, a.k.a. Prince of Darkness or the Godfather of Heavy Metal, is an English singer and songwriter whose career skyrocketed in the early 1970’s when he became the lead singer for the heavy metal band Black Sabbath.

The band’s signature sound included gloomy lyrics, heavy guitar riffs and Ozzy’s eerie vocals. Their debut album, Black Sabbath along with their next album, Paranoid, sold huge numbers and received extensive airplay. A few months later the band released, Master of Reality which reached the top ten in the United States and UK and later received Double Platinum status.

Osbourne left Black Sabbath in the late 1970’s and began a solo career with his new band, Blizzard of Ozz. It was the band’s debut album by the same name that has since achieved Quadruple Platinum RIAA status. The band had many more successful albums including, Diary of a Madman, Bark at the Moon and The Ultimate Sin.

It was in 1987 that Ozzy found guitarist Zakk Wylde. Over the next 30 years they would record such hit albums as No Rest for the Wicked, Live & Loud, Ozzmosis and many more. They last recorded Black Rain in 2007.

Osbourne has a number of credits including album sales over 100 million from his Black Sabbath days to his solo career. He was also inducted in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as a member of Black Sabbath and the UK Music Hall of Fame as a solo artist. He also received a Grammy Award for the single, “I Don’t Want to Change the World” for Best Metal Performance. He has a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame and a star in his hometown on the Birmingham Walk of Stars
