Welch, Minn. (May 14, 2018) Joan Jett, originator and leader of the hard-rocking Blackhearts along with Eddie Money will be here at Treasure Island Resort & Casino on Friday, August 24.
Joan Jett rose to fame in the 1970s all-girl rock band The Runaways before becoming the frontwoman for the Blackhearts. Her independent record label, Blackheart Records is one of the longest running indie labels and continues to give voice to new bands. She has eight platinum and gold albums that include, I Love Rock ‘n Roll, Album and Up Your Alley. She has also amassed nine songs in the Top 40; “Crimson and Clover,” “Everyday People,” “Do You Wanna Touch Me” and the Number 1 Billboard Hot 100 song from March to May in 1982, “I Love Rock ‘n Roll.”
In 2015, Joan Jett and the Blackhearts were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
Eddie Money burst onto the scene in 1977 with his self-titled debut album. Fans immediately fell in love with Money’s sound, and the album, which went double platinum, featured hits like “Baby Hold On” and “Two Tickets to Paradise.” Money followed the success of his debut album with a stream of Top 40 hits as well as some of the era’s most creative videos or songs like “Think I’m in Love” and “Shaken.”
In 1986, Money released his album, Can’t Hold Back, which featured the classic, Grammy-nominated duet with Ronnie Spector, “Take Me Home Tonight.” The song reached Number 4 on the Billboard Hot 100 and went platinum.
