Red Wing, MN (July 1, 2014) The Prairie Island Indian Community hosts the annual Dakota Singing and Dancing Championship Wacipi Celebration July 11 through July 13. Experience Native American history and traditions through these exciting competitions. Grand Entry performances begin the celebration each day starting on Friday, July 11 at 7pm, Saturday, July 12 at 1pm and 7pm and Sunday, July 13 at 1pm.
This celebration is free and open to the public.
Join in the pageantry and rich heritage of colorful apparel, breathtaking tribal dances and beautiful traditional songs. Come to watch, listen and feel Native American culture and history come to life. The celebration is outdoors next to Treasure Island Resort & Casino.
